Lars is a skilled percussion musician and can also play the acoustic guitar and piano. He's good at dancing, sewing and likes to design clothing in his spare time. Most don't know this but Lars is a talented ice skater and has often won prizes back home in Norway for his fancy footwork.

Personality:

Lars can be quite tarty and bitchy to most being the "tart" of the band. He is prissy, somewhat selfish at times, bitchy and can act like a spoiled brat. But underneath all of that is a kind and caring young man. He can act vain and often complains a lot about getting dirty or breaking a nail but these things are just part of his rather girly demeanour, although he is a hard-worker and his real passion is his drums. He's loyal to those around him and loving to people close to him. Once people see past his tartiness they will find a soft and caring person.

Background:

Lars was born in the city of Bjørgvin or Bergen. He has two older brothers, one called Harald, who is three years older, and the other Sven, who is four years older. Being the younger brother Lars was often spoiled by his parents who were both boat workers, catching fish and ferrying people along the coast to different locations. Lars and his family also speak the local dialect that being Bergensk. Being sent to the local city school Lars learnt English as well his his native language, Swedish, Finnish and some Danish.

At the age of 12 he got given a drum kit by his father because he could see that his youngest son was a keen rhythmist, often tapping on the table at home making up beats in his head. Music has always been a passion for Lars, unlike Sven who became a tree surgeon once he finished school. Harald got into death metal and became the lead guitarist for his group. With two musical sons, the Østberg family were lucky to have such talented boys.

Once Lars was 16 he left school and went to music school in Oslo because his parents had saved enough money up to send him. He learnt percussion and was soon on his way to being picked up by local bands because of his talent. Being interested in rock groups such as The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Status Quo and even some heavy metal ones such as Black Sabbath, Iron-Maiden and Judas Priest. A lot of European and Brit bands were a heavy influence on Lars' drumming style. Then there was Ziggy Stardust and his band the Spiders in the UK. They were taking the world by storm.

Lars was all in for this but he found himself being chosen to be a drummer for a glam metal band called Blixt. This surprised him since he wasn't a heavy metal style drummer but one more suited to a glam rock band. Still, he met up with Bjorn the lead singer for the band and said yes immediately. His career sky rocketed once he joined Blixt because they were a national hit in Sweden and across the whole of Scandinavia. Moving to Stockholm, Lars then performed with Blixt and toured around Europe and the States, enjoying every moment.
